BORN TOO LATE: OLD SONGS FOR A NEW SONGSTRESS

The woman that Cabaret Scenes called “an accomplished actress and engaging singer”, Alix Paige returns to the Metropolitan Room with an homage to the greatest female vocalists of the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s. Always feeling like she belonged back in the days of those fabulous jazz legends, Paige explores the timeless jazz classics that were sung by the likes of Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dinah Washington, just to name a few. Like her previous Met Room show “A Paige on Men”, the Bennett Paster Trio will be joining Alix again and together they will bring you back to a time when Jazz legends were born and the American Songbook was made.

Please call or go online to make reservations!

Alix Paige returns with the show that Cabaret Scenes publisher Peter Leavy calls a "enjoyable cabaret show" from "an accomplished actress as well as an engaging actress" that "rates an 'A' in communicating the full force of her songs to the audience". Through old jazz standards and Musical Theatre showstoppers, Alix tells stories of love, loss, and just pure and simple lust. Alix's haunting and vocals give her an old-soul quality that has been described as "well beyond her years" and it's with this unique voice that she explores the love songs of brilliant composers like Gershwin, Porter, Sondheim, and Kander & Ebb.
